How to get to the IFW building
(Informatik West)



The IFW building is located on 4 Haldenegg Steig. The building is accessible from Weinberg St, or through the Rechenzentrum, 59 Clausius St. In the map, the building is located in the upper centre, left of Zehnder Weg and to the right of Weinberg St. The purple lower right block indicates the ETH's main building.

By tram

For trams 6, 7, 10 and 15, exit at the Haldenegg tram stop. This stop is in the intersection of Leonhard St. and Weinberg St. If you are taking tram 7 (direction Bhf Stettbach) or tram 15 (direction Bucheggplatz), the IFW building is exactly in front of you as you exit the tram.

From the main train station (Zürich Hauptbanhof)

Exit the train station by the front, the Limmat river will run in front of you towards the left (north). Cross the river by the left bridge (Walchebrücke), go through the Walcher Tor, an open passage under a building, cross Stampfenbach St, jag left 20 meters and go up public stairs, at the end of the stairs you are at Hochfarb St. walk straight up to Weinberg and left up to past the tram stop. The IFW building will be on your right. This takes 7 to 9 minutes. If you prefer, you can take tram number 7 (direction Bhf Stettbach) by following the signs from the train station to the tram stops.
